Global expert in microalgae on the whole chain, AlgoSource is operating in France since 1993 with its production and biorefinery branch, Alpha Biotech.

Microalgae are photosynthetic organisms using light and inorganic carbon (CO2) as a source of energy to produce biomass. These tiny organisms can be found in numerous different natural habitats: sea or fresh water, soil, trees and buildings surface, hot springs, glaciers, etc. They are an incredibly innovative answer for a growing need in sustainable vegetal sourcing to replace chemicals and petrol-based products found in consumer goods, food, feed and cosmetics.

In addition to the usual proteins, sugars and fats, AlgoSource has found original molecules such as pigments, polyunsaturated fatty acids of ω3 and ω6 classes, antioxydants, exopolysaccharides, etc.

 We apply a selective recovery inside each cell compartment, a method which can be defined as a controlled microalgae biorefinery.

B-BLUE, the first real blue drink: with a strong development expected by the end of the year by our Belgian partner, this functional drink is 100% natural and made with our spirulina extract rich in phycocyanin.

Products development: For 2018, AlgoSource is expecting to provide nutraceutical industry with key results from human clinical trial performed on our blue Spirulysat^® product to gain EFSA health claim.
